Club Success Plan

The Club Success Plan is a powerful tool to help your club improve the member and guest experience and achieve goals within the Distinguished Club Program.

The Success Plan template was updated and improved in May 2025. This page will help you ensure you have the latest, most helpful information. Aim high — District 217’s Club Quality Team is here to help your club achieve its goals.

NOTE:  For a club to qualify for Distinguished at any level in the Distinguished Club Program, the club must submit the Club Success Plan  to Toastmasters International by September 30.

How It Works

Your club’s Executive Committee and members use the Club Success Plan to strategically map out how the club will achieve its desired goals within the Distinguished Club Program. For maximum benefit, complete the plan as soon as possible after the start of the program year on July 1.

The club works together to create action plans and measurable checkpoints for each goal, then reviews progress periodically throughout the year.

Creating Your Club Success Plan

  • The Club Officers meet.
  • Complete the Club Success Plan using one of two options:

Option 1 — Complete online: Log on to Toastmasters.org, scroll down and click on Club Central, select your club, then scroll down to Club Success Plan.

Option 2 — Download and fill out: Download the latest Club Success Plan template and fill it out with your Executive Committee.

  • Set your goals for the program year and create action plans with measurable checkpoints for each.
  • Share the completed plan with your full club membership.
  • Review progress at regular intervals throughout the year — adjust as needed.

Parts of the Plan

The Distinguished Club Program and the Club Success Plan focus on the same thing — the highest-quality experience for members and guests. The plan focuses on 10 measurable goals grouped into four areas:

Area 1

Education

Members progress along Pathways and earn educational awards.

Area 2

Membership

Recruit new club members and maintain a healthy active roster.

Area 3

Training

Club officers attend two training sessions per year to learn and grow as leaders.

Area 4

Club Administration

On-time payment of dues and timely submission of the club officer list.
